Ruka's Big Day Out

Jun wanted to do was hit Takashimaya for some packaged sashimi, and M decided to
take Ruka with us to see James' boys [at his shop, newurbanmale.com, Ai no Mori Jun 1st
[Jun's one and only CH crush], Elf Shiwoo, Tsukapyon, and a spanking gorgeous Harley-
Davidson].

The rationale behind this was that to bring Ruka out was less fuss than Sei or Tsuki as one
wouldn't go without the other, he had less of a faceup to risk, and he might respond to Jun,
whom he'd been in Domuya with for a period of time.

So we dressed him in his own clothes, and brought him downtown carefully. For those not in
the know, Takashimaya is the most visited shopping center in Orchard Road, which is for
better or much much worse the Champs d'Elysées of Singapore. Which just, really, shows
you how pathetic we are. James' shop is located in the Heeren, which houses HMV.
Takashimaya is housed in Ngee Ann City, which is some blocks down opposite Heeren, and boasts a Kinokuniya.

Rather nervously, we scaled five stories to the shop. Ruka was oblivious throughout.

James' boys were very friendly. And the Harley-Davidson was beautiful. Jun didn't remember
Ruka, but it was understandable. He was in the other display case. Thus is the curse of
display case dividers. He was very nice about it all, nonetheless, and gorgeous, all dark skin,
dark hair, and dark red eyes from behind a dark bike helmet.

James wasn't at the shop that day. Probably at his day job. But his partners were wonderfully
magnaminous, and suggested we bring Ruka in for a photo next to the others.
We couldn't help it.

It's the closest any of our boys would ever get to a Harley-Davidson.

Shiwoo and Tsukasa, straight from Korea and Japan respectively, had never met him before,
but when we left, they waved goodbye. We wish we could say Ruka waved back, but we could
only move his hand and pretend he did.

We thought it was terribly nice of them to pretend he did too.

We had to take a little break when we finally navigated the five floors down to the entrance
again. The rhythmical murmur of the fountain seemed to soothe him, and we sat around
feeling slightly melancholic, till we got up and about again.

M suggested that perhaps we should call home to check on the boys, but Ruka didn't seem
to think much of the idea. Or perhaps the phone was too heavy. We eventually decided that if
Seishurou and Tsukisou were alone, they probably wouldn't want to be disturbed...

And so we crossed the road to Takashimaya instead.

It's impossible to see the words on the building here, but this is the hub of life in Singapore.
Sad, we know.

...And it seems our nation might have a slight obsession with fountains. Fortunately, Ruka
seems to like being near them...

We had to drop by Kinokuniya. As we ambled to the Japanese section, Jun remarked
wistfully that she wished, just for once, the next volume of Mr. Fullswing would be nicely out
as required. We'd been to Kinokuniya in hopes of that for sometime, the latest being a visit
last Wednesday and then Friday. Then, lo and behold :

...Ruka must be a lucky charm.

We bought him books too. We doubted that he would truly be so interested in Cicely Mary
Barker's '[Various] Book[s] of Flower Fairies', but it was the right size, and a phenomenal
discovery in a local bookstore, which Jun had been scouring for years to complete her
meagre collection, so. It wasn't as if he was going to read it, after all.

Jun : Er...M?
M : What?

Jun : *points at sign*
M : ...Oops. *picks up Ruka and surreptitiously shuffles away*

The whole point of the outing had actually been to get packaged sashimi. So get packaged
sashimi we did.

Ruka slept among the wine bottles while he waited.

We got him Tic-Tac, but he never ate them.

And he was really tired. And so were we. As you probably are, of seeing fountains, at least.
So we went home.

M : We're back.
Seishurou : So, how'd it go?
Jun : Not a flicker.
Tsukisou : Oh.

M : Want some Tic-Tac?
Seishurou : Yeah, okay.

It's been a long day.
