With Far Cry's blessings, we took the newly-faceup'd Nemo out for a trip to Orchard Road, the Champs Elysees of Singapore! [Except. Smaller. Dinkier. Pathetic'er. And without any substitutes.] It was raining horribly in the afternoon to evening, so by the time we set out, it was already rather dark, but we still managed to fit in a few favourite spots...
...like Kinokuniya!
We thought he might enjoy the One Piece section, having a Chopper tee and all...
...but we can't say he enjoyed the literary criticism section very much. XD [For the record, Jun was searching for Romanticism and the Arts, by W. Vaughan to no avail.]
We eventually stopped for dinner...
"Dear Mommy...the ocean in Singapore is very different from the one in Hawaii!"
"It comes in a cup, and it's shorter than me..."
...and had Ichigo Bliss for dessert!
Ichigo Bliss is the best invention MOS Burger has ever come up with - and this includes the lovely Cocco-esque patterns and the cute thermos soupcup. It involves coring strawberries, pumping condensed milk into them, sealing the top with white chocolate - and flashfreezing the whole ensemble. Sheer cold sweet tangy goodness!
"I like the part in the center mostest!" ...what can we say? That's the sweetest bit. XDD
After dinner, Nemo was a good boy and waited patiently while we disappeared somewhere he couldn't follow for a moment...
Namely...
* * * * * * *
After dinner, we walked over to HMV, the biggest record shop in Singapore. On the way, we found a payphone, and Nemo thought he might like to call home...
"So what's the number, dear?"
"...I forgot."
T__T Poor boy. But we promised we would show his mommy all the things we did today, and he soon got over it. ^^
It wasn't long before we got to HMV...
...and like most kids, he was more excited about the fountain than the store itself.
"Whoaaaaa....uh oh!"
"Augh!!! Nemo!!! Don't fall in!!!!"
...He didn't fall in. ^^;;; Barely. No harm done. XD;;;
Anyway...
HMV!
It took about ten seconds before we realised he was listening intently to...nothing. ^^;; He forgot to press the play button.
But he enjoyed himself anyway! After that, we made a final trip down to Borders, the other large bookstore in Orchard. [We don't have much of a nightlife, no... ^^;;]
He sat himself down and read...and read...until it was closing time and the staff came to kick us out.
"Uh...honey?"
"Almost...done..."
Oh well. ^^;;
By the time we finally got back home, it was past midnight - much too late for little boys to be up and about! As soon as he changed into sleepwear and brushed his teeth, it was beddy-bye time for Nemo!
