D'J Party 2004
A sudden announcement about the Japanese pop culture showcase [i.e. jrock, visual kei,
cosplay] day of the numerous Singapore Street Festivals currently taking place prompted
M to grab a booth for Domuya - a decision we would both come to regret and yet be wryly
appreciative of...

Domuya's previous in-house Mimi13, Byakuren and Rin [Sasha v.1 head] as Yuri, King and Mai from King of Fighters;
cosplay outfits made/coordinated by tangled web.

Jem/BTOT's Viktor!

Tangled Web - Seishurou v.1 | Mainey

The normally rather tactiturn and...er...grumpy...XD;;...Viktor surprised us by having what
seemed to be quite a good time at the D'J Party... See, Jem? You must bring him out
more often! XD

Viktor : Hello.

Seishurou : Yowzers. *To Jun + M* You saw it, he started it first. So, not off-limits
anymore, alright?
Jun + M : O____O

Tsukisou: ...

Jun : You know, as much as I know Florian isn't around right now, no one can
guarantee he won't gut you as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

Seishurou : Florian, schmorian. More important things at hand. *purr* Hello...

Viktor : Oh great. Why do I always get the pushy ones. Target change.

Seishurou : O___O
Tsukisou : ...Is this supposed to be part of the script?
Viktor : It is now.
Tsukisou : Er.

*swoosh THWOCK*
Seishurou : *draws sword*

Seishurou : Alright, loverboy. Hands off my property.
Note : XD Sei tends to be amused by the odd propositions Tsuki gets [much to his chagrin],
but it looks like he doesn't take getting snubbed too well. >3

Viktor : Um. How is it supposed to go again? Ah - never! Never shall I let thy sword come
between me and the object of my affections...and all that other Shakespearean crap I
can't remember. @_@;;;
Note : ...Says the boy who can only read books about dragons. XD;;

Viktor : Alright, fine. I'll give the game up. Jem's got her head full of bringing Florian home.
I'm not sure I really want him...jumping me...and...what's that word...glomping
me...and...*shudder*...trying to kiss me all the time... So this should give her something to
think about.

Viktor : 'Sides. Your lap is soft.

Tsukisou : ...I'm not sure this is believable. At all.

Believable? XD;; You decide.

Con Report

D'J Party 2004
...as according to Seishurou and Tsukisou...

Seishurou : It was hot. And grimy. And hot! And -
M : But lots of people adored you! XD;;;
Seishurou : ...That...is true.
M : And Viktor flirted with you!! XD;;;;;
Seishurou : ...That...is true...
M : See?! ^^;;;
Seishurou : Yes. BUT HE SNUBBED ME! AND IT WAS HOT! AND -
Jun : Next!
Tsukisou : *whimper* The vinyl corset chafed. The vinyl boots chafed. The vinyl
underwear especially chafed. >__<

Jun : O___O Too much information. Moving on.

...as according to Jun...

After having spent the week in spartan survival rushing cosplay outfits for three SDs,
Sunday morning found us in an inhuman rush, having just dressed three boys in terribly
fiddly costumes with many hate-able jrocky lace-uppy bits, sprayed M's hair white/gold
with four bottles of white/gold hairspray, and dumped on a ton of makeup ala Chris
1st faceup style. With furniture, backdrop cloth, dyed turkey feather, gauze roses,
sewing supplies, and other odd bobs in tow, we set off on our arduous journey...

...Which got off to a very bad start as soon as we arrived and cast our eyes upon the
land. Faber Hill Park turned out to be a tiny plot of rectangular grassland. Dying grass at
that. Much of it was dominated by a hugeass stage with twelve hugeass speakers,
casting a foreboding omen. Worse, the plot sloped terribly at the sides. Worse. The
slopes were what the booths were on. Worse. The booths were tiny metre by metre
square tables. This would probably not have been so bad if we'd been told they were dinky
little metre by metre square tables on terribly steep slopes exposed to the perilous
whims of the pelutant tropical weather. We'd been told they were good sturdy
professional merchandise booths in a partially sheltered area. By way of explanation, the
organiser of the event offered : 'Sorry, ah. There was an administration cock-up.'
...Alriiight. Flashes of the near future sparked impending doom in our hearts as we
attempted to set Ruka and a handy little chair up on the table, only to have to make a
desperate lunge as both succumbed dramatically to inclines and gravity.

But I'll spare you the gory details.

After a painful battle to set the boys up in salaciously j-rockish photoshoot poses
complete with chiffon, gauze roses, and black turkey feathers, Candy and Jacky finally
arrived with the girls and the Ai dolls, and the whole process started over again. [Multiply
that by the flurry of last minute alterations I had to stitch up [this is what happens when
you don't have to models to make clothes with], and the fact that I lost my needle half-
way through. XD;;] Luckily, Jem-san and Sho-san showed up with Viktor in a bag
halfway through the preparation, and spurred by the motivation of having her take Viktor out
of the bag, we finished in record time, complete with a nice cosy space for j-rockily
dressed Viktor right next to our j-rockily dressed boys. XD

The rest of the day proceeded to be hot, muggy, grimy, unstable, entirely too loud, rather
repetitive, very very crowded, hot...hot...very hot... Complete with quite a few odd ducks
who poked and prodded rudely at the dolls. It started far too early for the booth-holders
[11am meeting time for a 3pm event. @__@], ended far too late for mostly aimless fare.
Some of the bands were aight, no complaints about the music save for the six-speaker
overkill, but much of the singing made me want to take a spork to my eyes [for all the good
that would do me. There were some rather talented vocalists, though.]. There were only
five other booths, and none of them held much merchandise that interested us [though it
might have been the increasing volume of the speakers [we were located first and
furthest] as we proceeded down the line that stayed our feet]. And it was hot.

But, of course, the perks of any event. XD;; The dolls attracted quite a darn bit of attention
from various sources. Seishurou was especially a chick-magnet. I kid you not. I am so
proud. I spent the night before touching up his faceup in various finicky areas, and thought
it was my imagination that he no longer looked like a dork, but actually rather cool.
It's nice to have many girls and quite a few guys prove one right. [Incidentally, I was
feeling rather dissatisfied with Tsuki for the day. But after the third night, I no longer think
he looks terribly odd in the photos. Perhaps I was having an allergic reaction to his light
eyes in his rather shaded eyewells [the white-grey Zoukeimura eyes can get rather light
in daylight] that tends to signal desperate gothloli.] Everyone got their fair share of oohs
and aahs, though, especially Viktor in his jailbait >D ensemble and the too terribly cute
Domuya girls that I terribly wanted to whisk home. XD;; I miss Mimi already, Byakuren is
my favourite currently available what-passes-closest-to-female doll, and I adore Rin.
Above all, I love King [King of Fighters], my first ever crush. If I didn't know that Jacky
would either burst into tears or gut me with Sei's replica sabre [which Tsuki was in
possession of for most of the day in a rather Shinya-esque [Dir en Grey] motif], I would
have grabbed her and ran. We had many memorable visitors - foremost of all
nekromance-san's last minute drop-by. It was 8-ish, and both Jem-san and Domuya had
left with their lovelies, leaving our three boys to hold down the fort for the remainder of
the event. T__T M and I were going to leave after finishing a hard-fought for hotdog,
but somehow decided to stay on for a bit more. Suddenly a lady we'd never seen before
came by and told us she loved our boys and our site. *dies* This made M pull the most
amusing 'Scream' [Edvard Munch] face that was maintained throughout most of the rest of
their conversation. Thank you, nekromance-san! You made our day! XD

The event ended not long after that, and we somehow managed to pack and eventually
lug our things home. As a practical review - this is not a feat we would attempt again as
long as the Japanese Pop Culture Festival is held in the open - particularly such a dirty
open. -_-;; The risk to the SDs is just not worth it. The boys came home covered in dust.
-_-;;; I'm also still miffed about the booth→dinky-table, particularly as we'd messaged them
quite a few times in the days leading to the event inquiring about the size of the 'booth',
messages that were never answered. And it was hot.

Nevertheless, it was largely worth it 1. seeing Viktor again. XD 2. Domuya's girls in KoF
outfits! 3. Mainey's Seishurou cosplay! @_@!! 4. all the attention the boys and particularly Sei got. ^^~<3
5. the people who were genuinely interested in learning about SDs 6. the nice girl who wanted to
know if Kraven was for sale. XD [We had a picture of him in an album we had on display]
7. nekromance-san's kind comments. T__T 8. all the odd people M knows who popped up at the booth
for support. *__* [I managed to score a few past acquaintances out of nowhere myself. XD Though...er...
being of that eccentric solitary variety who gains 'fame' through esoteric means, I only remember them to
varying degrees of success... ^^;;;].

...I'm not sure, however, that the boys would agree.

Seishurou : Never. Again.
