Sanada : Mikoto!!! MIKOTO!!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!!! T______T
Yanagi : -_-;; Right behind you.
And so it went. ^^;;
Though we'd already been considered part of the early queue for Sumika and took no more than mere minutes in the storespace proper, it seemed most of the more famed dealers had already finished up sales for the day. With our wallets thus kept safe, we instead spent the day fawning over the displays instead.
Nearest to Sumika and thus first on our list was our favourite feminine-apparel-for-male-dolls dealer Mantenboshi.
Her unnamed Touya model, oft spotting on Y!JA in dresses [and not disappointing thus today], had long been a favourite of ours.
We were absolutely delighted to see him in his usual fare. XD
...though he reminded us relentlessly of our thwarted desires. T_T
Rikimaru too was presented and accounted for in a lovely little lamb outfit...that we would have been sorely tempted to purchase if it hadn't already been sold out. XD;;
As it was, we were *this* close to getting the MSD version, of which there was a set or two left...
Yanagi : Don't even think about it. -_-!
Next on our list was our long time idol Berrypot, of Junx and Berrypot fame, both, as usual, sharing the same display.
As Berrypot was one of the biggest influences on Jun when we first got into BJD, it was an extremely humbling experience to finally be in the presence of these BJD we'd admired from since before we got BJD. XD;;
Though it was a pity our personal favourite, Platina, was not present, it was an incredible experience seeing these familiar faces.
Eventually, we managed to tear ourselves away to proceed to our third important stop. Sharing the table with our personal favourite, Robin's Egg, was Puff&Cool, and we took a pic of her lovely Tsukasa, modeling the berets she sold.
Since the days under the Betty in the Box name, we'd been huge fans of Robin's Egg, first for the beautiful and elegant jewelry, then increasingly for the impressive faceups on her very charismatic crew.
Though her display was small compared to the many sprawling sets about, just two of her boys were enough to make us fans for life.
We were absolutely floored by the incredible integration of shading and features, giving the impression in real-life [that alas, is but poorly captured by our inferior camera under the poor lighting conditions] that their faces were as natural as any human's.
After this experience, Akira-san became our current favourite customiser, and Touya and Yuugiri [as closely hovering near the top as they already were XDD] became our favourite of the Robin's Egg crew.
Yuu-chan, in particular, became our firm favourite. While we tend to have our reservations about faceups expressing extreme emotion, Yuugiri looked so beautifully natural in person that we can never forget the awe we felt upon first sight.
Next, we went in search of the infamous Elolita girls - their displays were instantly recognisable.
The Elolita girls were even more lovely in person and the setup was fantastic. It was thrilling to see them in person, after we had seen them in various doll magazines and on their website.
Having visited all our short-listed booths, we went wandering around the 500-odd booths of Dolpa 12. Regretfully, we can't remember the name of this booth, but they had beautiful kimonos and kimono accessories for sale.
We discovered Dolly Mode - they had a huge setup with several gorgeous dolls.
We actually only remembered the name of the booth due to the nice, informative "DOLLY MODE" in her setup.
M loved her sweet SD Ken, cavity-causing in person.
And as expected, with our weakness for Sweet Dreams Nana, we adored her Laana.
Her Lunne, SD Nana, was decidedly one of the prettiest Nana in the entire Dolpa to us.
We ran into the Loyal Beast booth after more strolling, awed by the fact that it was the Loyal Beast booth.
Meanwhile...
Seishurou : ...
Tsukisou : ...
We couldn't find Mainey.
[Mainey and Kazumi of Lost, too vacationing in Japan, were supposed to meet us here. ^^;;]
The first thing Jun said when she saw this booth was "So that's where all the Sasha's went!"
Our favourite was this demure little girl in her kimono.
We also noted in amazement that she had a Captain Cecil as well.
Another booth selling fantastically detailed dresses had one of the most beautiful Anais we had ever seen - the photo does not do her justice.
This cute little Anais also caught our attention, but the photo turned out unfortunately blur.
Soon, we spotted Sweet Dreams Lucases - natural bias causing M to pick up her camera and snap away at them.
Crossdressing SD Lucas is always irresistable.
Stay tuned for the fifth part of our very exciting Japan adventure, where we finally round up the meat, blood, sweat, and tears of Dolpa [ending with a little extra something...]!
