Alternative Sports Diary 2006

We were astonished and honoured when Reel Loco Productions approached
us to feature in an episode of a short series regarding off-beat hobbies and activities
commissioned by the local Channel 5 : the second episode of 'Alternative Sports Diary'.
Our participation evidently had to do with the 'ball-jointed doll' section, with a bit of tie-in to the 'cosplay' section.

They wanted to film a gathering with a few but not too many participants on a work-day evening.
Sakana, Nevar and Mainey were sweet enough to come to our rescue
and brought their dollies to Cream Bistro to meet up with us for dinner. The film crew arrived after dinner,
and we spent a large amount of film time playing with the bjds as we were directed - and wont - to do.
In the meantime, we managed to salvage few photos, potentially because Jun was asked to pretend to
'use (our) camera' for quite, quite a while.

BJDs in attendance were Sakana's Shizune [Volks SDC Kurenai] and Reine [Volks Yo-SD Suzuna],
Nevar's Leryl [AR Ren boy] and Chune [Volks Yo-SD Sleeping Suzuna], Mainey's Kazumi [Volks FCS F-16]
and tangled's Seishurou, Tsukisou, Si Ye and Tea.

In April 2007, Alternative Sports Diary went on air, and M nearly missed it.
So here it is, in abridged [ie. BJD only] format, and we suppose that we'll appear
on a show again because every time Jun shows up something odd occurs...
[Certainly we'll be considering it really carefully because unbeknownst to us
it played all over the island on MobileTV, television systems installed in buses. Aaaaaa!]

M sounds more of an idiot there than IRL.

Please do not handle your dolls by their chin. M shouldn't have done that.
It's driving both of us crazy watching it, so please don't do it. Always handle them by their ears.
We swear we don't do that regularly, if at all.

In case you can't see the video, here are a ton of screen-caps.

No, this isn't actually a photostory.

From left to right: Laminated poster gifted from and autographed by Mistula,
laminated Straits Time article from 2005,
Volks poster gifted from Shan of Small Wonder.

Yup, that's Ren version.Tsukasa being blushed.

And there we are pretending to know what we're doing.

That also concludes another brief run-in of tangled web with the local media!
Our very belated thanks to Reel Loco Productions, Assistant Producer Grace Lee
and her camera crew who came down to our house, our gathering mates Sakana,
Nevar and Mainey, as well as props to the sites which uh, coincidentally but
naturally showed up in the footage also in order of appearance: Den of Angels, Small Wonder, Fully Articulated.
